It´s all about logic
Founded in 1996, Array Technology pioneered the development and commercialization of new configuration software tools based on the technology of array-based logic. The company was a spin-off of many years of research in array-based logic - starting in 1984 as a joint research project between the Danish company Bang & Olufsen A/S and the Technical University of Denmark, which was known for its leadership in research in array-based logic.

A technological breakthrough
The thought to leverage Array-based logic based on a geometrical representation of logic in terms of nested data arrays is a breakthrough in the configuration market. In this representation, logical inferences are executed on finite domains by a few standardized array operations which have paved the way for unpresendented scalability and easy of use.

The scope of array-based logic is not limited to propositional logic which is instrumental in allowing Array Technology to continiue to innovate to solve business problems across a wide spectrum of new business areas.

A commercial breakthrough
Since the first release of Array Configuration in 1998 the technology have successfully been applied to some of the world most complex business problems within configuration and businesses around the world continiue to turn to Array Technology and our partners to deliver quantifiable value in this space.

Milestones

• 2004
  OEM and development partnerships are expanded especially for Design Optimization and Engineering Design solutions.
• 2003
  Breakthrough on the North American market is achieved with three multi-million dollar new customer wins. First Fortune 20 customer is won.
• 2002
  New partners and customers are expanding the use of the Array Configuration ™, for example CAD based Design Optimization for Autodesk.
• 2000
  OEM sales grows rapidly with over 100 new customer in North America (including Hewlett-Packard and Xerox). Further markets and applications are added when Blue Martini Software acquires Cybrant.
• 1999
  Cybrant Corp.(USA) joins as an OEM partner. Cybrant develops a successful package of software tools for product configuration and e-commerce applications based on the Array Configuration ™.
• 1998- 2001
  Array Technology partners with Danish State Railroads (ScanRail Consult) on the ALMOND project. The result is a tool for automatic design and verification of signal interlocking systems. The tool is now used internationally by WS Atkins Rail.
• 1998
  The first version of the Array Configuration™ product is released. First patent application is filed.
• 1997
  The first prototypes of the Array Configuration™ are developed and tested in cooperation with Danish State Railroads (railroad interlocking systems) and Sydkraft AB (power networks).
• 1996
  Array Technology is founded in order to develop and commercialize a novel technology based on array-based logic. The basic research in array-based logic is carried out jointly with the Technical University of Denmark.
