Sydkraft

Manufactures of power-supply components as ABB and Siemens can already deliver systems with automatically generated and executed coupling. In these systems, the grounding of a component e.g. a power-line is automatically done. However, this automation can only be used with new components and if the network is built after specific and expensive guidelines. A tool for the generation or validation of coupling sequences on existing distribution networks does not exist.
Because of strong safety regulations, these couplings have to follow several rules and bindings, including the capacity and limitations of the involved components in relation to e.g. reactive power and load current. These rules and bindings are not documented in any way. They are learned intuition and experience among the operators who plan and write the switching schedules.
Array Configurator are used to generate the switching schedules within the high-voltage network of Sydkraft AB.

A switching schedule is a list of coupling actions in the high-voltage network, which has to be carried out to isolate and ground a part of the network, in order to make it accessible for manual service or repair.
